University of Minnesota-Duluth Kubb Klub Tournament & Fundraiser

Time: 10am
Teams: Each team must consist of at least two players.
All teams welcome.
Cost: $5 per person. All proceeds will go to Rural Renewable
Energy Alliance (RREAL), a non-profit organization that manufactures
and installs solar heating panels for low-income families.
Format: All matches are best of three. Group play will
consist of a round robin format with groups of four kubb teams
(three matches per team). A single elimination playoff round will
follow with teams facing opposing teams in other four team groups
(1a vs. 4b, 2a vs. 3b, etc). Opportunities for non-advancing teams
in the playoff round to continue to play during the day in a consolation
bracket will be available. Each team is guaranteed at least five
games.Trophies and prizes will be awarded.

. Tournament t-shirts will be available for $10. All proceeds
will go to USA for UNHCR and a local organization. Rules: World Championship rules
will apply. Format: All matches are best of three. Group
play will consist of a round robin format with groups of four
kubb teams (three matches per team). A single elimination playoff
round will follow with teams facing opposing teams in other four
team groups (1a vs. 4b, 2a vs. 3b, etc). Opportunities for non-advancing
teams in the playoff round to continue to play during the day

at least five games. Trophies will be given to the 2009 champions,
second place, and third place. Food: Lunch will be available for purchase. Lodging: Available at a later date
What will the proceeds go towards? UNHCR: Proceeds will go towards refugees. Local organization: To be determined.
Additional
comment: There is no skill
level required. This is obviously a tournament, but one can also
think of it as a way to be able to play kubb with people from
different places over the course of an enjoyable day, while at
the same time raising money for two organizations.
